If Albania is on your travel list, understanding the visa requirements is key to a smooth journey. For UAE citizens, entry may be simpler than you think. Whether it’s a quick getaway or a longer stay, here’s what you need to know before booking your trip.

Do UAE citizens require an Albanian visa?

No, UAE citizens can visit Albania without applying for a visa if their trip is up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Albania has a visa-free policy for UAE passport holders, similar to Schengen rules, allowing short-term stays without needing a visa.

Schengen similarities

Although Albania is not part of the Schengen Zone or European Union, it follows a Schengen-like visa policy. This allows UAE citizens and other eligible nationals to enter visa-free for short stays of up to 90 days every 180 days.

How to apply for an Albanian visa from the UAE

If you plan to stay in Albania for more than 90 days or don't meet the visa-free conditions, you’ll need to apply for a visa. Although iVisa does not currently handle visa applications for Albania, we can help you understand how to apply for one.

1.Visit the official eVisa portal and complete the online application.

2.Upload the required documents.

3.Submit the application and track the status online. You'll receive confirmation and instructions to pay the visa fee after review.

4.Once approved, you will either receive the visa electronically or instructions for picking it up.

Do UAE residents need an Albania eVisa?

UAE residents can enter Albania without an eVisa if they meet certain conditions:

  • Holding a valid multiple-entry Schengen, US, or UK visa, or residence permit that has been previously used.

  • Holding a UAE residence permit valid for at least 1 year from the moment of entry.

If these conditions aren’t met, UAE residents must apply for an Albania eVisa before travel.
