We currently don't offer this visa, but you can find more information on the Bangladesh government website.

The greenest country in South Asia, Bangladesh is braided with rivers and home to a rich cultural heritage just waiting to be discovered.

Here, we'll cover how to apply for the Bangladesh Visa.

What is the Bangladesh Visa?

The Bangladesh Visa allows eligible travelers to enter the country for tourism, business, study, or work purposes.

This visa is not the same as the Bangladesh Visa on Arrival, and different nationalities are eligible for this.

Do I need a visa for Bangladesh?

Most travelers must either get a Bangladesh Visa before entering the country or can get a visa on arrival.

  • Citizens of the following countries don't need a Bangladesh Visa if they're staying for 90 days or less:

Barbados, Bhutan, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Fiji, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Jamaica, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Tonga, or Zambia.

  • Citizens of the following countries can get a Visa on Arrival and don't need to apply beforehand:

All European Union member states, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Iceland, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

All other visitors must apply for a visa beforehand. Please note that this info can change over time.

Do children require a visa for Bangladesh?

Yes, children from eligible countries must also have a visa to enter Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Visa validity: How long can I stay?

The Bangladesh Tourist Visa validity depends on your nationality. We recommend checking with the nearest Bangladeshi Embassy or Consulate for more info.

A tourist visa is usually issued for maximum 3 months duration with single entry.

In some cases, you can choose from a single-entry, double-entry, and multiple-entry visa.

Bangladesh Visa: Document requirements

In order to apply for a visa, you must meet a few requirements first. In this section, you’ll find some of the most important documents and info needed:

  • Copy of your passport with at least 6 months of validity

  • Recent passport photo

  • Return flight ticket

  • The completed visa application form, printed and signed

  • Proof of payment of the visa fees

  • Working email address to receive updates and the confirmation of your visa application

In addition, the type of visa you apply for may need extra documents, such as a travel itinerary or an invitation letter from a business, government organization, or educational institution.

Costs and processing times of the Bangladesh Visa

The processing time for a Bangladesh visa depends on the embassy or consulate you've applied at. In general, a tourist visa is processed within 2 weeks, but may take up to a month.

We recommend applying at least 2 months before departure to avoid issues.
