It DOES NOT replace a visa. If your country requires a visa, the immigration officers will ask for your Visa when you enter the country. Keep in mind some nationalities will require a paper visa. If that is your case, we suggest you contact your local embassy.

Bulgaria is an EU country that is often overlooked by tourists. But there are many reasons to explore this country starting with its amazing landscapes, that range from beautiful beaches in the Black Sea to high peaks and lush forests, and ending with the fascinating historical sites you can find everywhere. All in all, Bulgaria is a fantastic country to visit on your next holiday.
To travel to Bulgaria, you’ll need to process some travel documents first. The main travel documents you’ll need to be able to enter Bulgaria hassle-free are your valid passport and the Bulgaria Travel Declaration, a health form introduced by the Bulgarian Government that's aimed at reducing the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

What is the Bulgaria Travel Declaration?
It’s a screening travel document that collects information from all international travelers. It is completed online and it has been an important health measure meant to reduce the Coronavirus’s spread within the country. It should only take you a few minutes to complete the application form and you can have it in as fast as 4 hours with iVisa.
It is a health form and therefore it doesn’t replace a visa or any other travel authorization. If you need a visa, the immigration officers will ask for it when you enter Bulgaria. Who is eligible to apply for the Bulgaria Travel Declaration?
All travelers, both foreign and nationals, need to apply for this mandatory document before traveling to Bulgaria. It will take at least one day to process your travel declaration.
If you do not comply with this mandatory requirement, you may not be able to travel to, or enter Bulgaria.
How long is the document valid for?
The health form is valid for a Single entry, which means you will need to apply for one every time you travel to Bulgaria. It is only valid on entry to the country.
To apply for this document, you only need to fill out an online form. You won’t need any additional documents to obtain your Bulgaria Travel Declaration.
How do I apply for the Bulgaria Travel Declaration online?
It is a simple process that you can complete in less than 10 minutes.

Traveling with minors

Do I need a Bulgaria Travel Declaration if I’m transiting through Bulgaria?
Yes, all travelers, whether they’re visiting Bulgaria or transiting through the country will need to obtain a Bulgaria Travel Declaration before arrival.
There is a chance that the airline will check if you have it ready before checking in, so make sure you apply within at least 24 hours of your trip and have it ready to present to the airline staff.
COVID-19 Entry Requirements
Currently, there are no COVID-19 testing requirements to enter Bulgaria. Incoming travelers also don’t need to provide COVID-19 vaccination passports or certificates to visit the country. However, bear in mind that the WHO recommends that you’re fully vaccinated before traveling internationally. We strongly recommend that you bring your vaccination certificate along with your other travel documents.
There are no quarantine requirements in Bulgaria. Though it is not mandatory, we highly recommend that you have valid health insurance in the country that covers COVID-19 infection and medical evacuation.
