Summary
  • Mandatory requirement: Japanese citizens must submit the eArrival form before entering Cambodia, even if you're visa-exempt for short stays
  • How to get it: Application takes minutes online – QR code issued upon approval
  • Don't forget: Keep your QR code handy on your device or print a backup

Planning a trip from Japan to Cambodia? Even though you don’t need a visa for stays up to 14 days, there’s one mandatory entry step that many travelers miss: the Cambodia eArrival.

This simple but crucial form must be submitted before your trip, or you could be denied entry at the border.

Do Japanese travelers need the Cambodia eArrival?

Yes, all travelers from Japan must complete the Cambodia eArrival before entering.

This is not a visa, but a required immigration document for anyone entering Cambodia, whether by air or land.

It replaces the old paper arrival card you used to fill out on the plane or at the border.

Do Japanese citizens need a visa for Cambodia?

Good news: Japanese passport holders can enter Cambodia for up to 14 days without a visa, as long as the visit is strictly for tourism.

If you plan to stay longer than 14 days or if your visit is for business purposes, you'll need to apply for a visa instead via the government.

Cambodia eArrival requirements for Japanese citizens

The Cambodia eArrival form is quick and easy. Have the following ready:

✔️ A valid Japanese passport (must be valid for at least 6 more months)
✔️ Your personal details
✔️ Travel and accommodation information

How to apply for the Cambodia eArrival

You can complete the form online via:

Why use iVisa for the eArrival card?

iVisa ✅ Do it yourself ❌
No tech errors Government site is buggy and slow
Only relevant and easy questions Long, confusing forms
Support when you need it No help if you’re stuck
Review to catch mistakes Easy to mess up and get denied

“The official site asked for so many weird details. I gave up and used iVisa instead.” – Yuki, Osaka

With us, most applications take just a few minutes – and you’ll usually get approval quickly.

Do I need to print the Cambodia eArrival?

Once approved, you’ll receive a QR code by email. Cambodian immigration will scan it on arrival.

While a digital copy is accepted, printing a hard copy is highly recommended.

💡 Tip from Femke Strietman, iVisa travel expert:

“Always print your eArrival QR code just in case your phone dies or you can’t access the internet. It’s a small step that avoids big stress.”

Other Cambodia entry tips for Japanese citizens

✅ eArrival is mandatory whether flying or crossing by land
✅ Make sure your passport has blank pages for stamps
