What is the Canada Visitor Visa?

The Canada Visitor Visa (TRV) is a temporary visa that permits you to stay in Canada for tourism, visiting family, or attending business meetings. You can also use this visa as a transit document if you pass through Canada to another destination.

Additionally, Pakistani citizens are eligible for a multiple-entry visa, valid for up to 10 years or until your passport expires, with a maximum stay of 180 days per visit.

"A key tip is to make sure your passport is valid for as long as possible before applying, as this ensures you get the full 10-year multiple-entry visa." — Usman, Islamabad

Additional tips for a smooth visa application

1.Submit all documents in English or French: If your documents are in another language, ensure translations are certified. 2.Book biometrics early: Biometrics are mandatory for all applicants and can be submitted at your nearest Visa Application Center (VAC). 3.Keep track of deadlines: Make sure your passport is valid throughout the process and that you book your appointment for biometrics as soon as possible. 4.Check if you qualify for CAN+: If you have visited Canada in the past 10 years or hold a valid U.S. visa, you may qualify for CAN+, which can speed up the process.

Visa processing time and fees

The Canada Visitor Visa generally takes 10 to 35 working days to process, depending on the volume of applications. For Pakistani citizens, the visa application fee is 100 CAD, and the biometric fee is an additional 85 CAD.
