What you need to know

  • The Chile Unique Entry Form is a travel document you need to fill out to be able to enter Rapa Nui (Easter Island). It works like a single entry Visa and you can only visit the island with it.

  • You can stay up to 30 days in Rapa Nui with this travel document.

  • You don’t need this document to transit Chile.

The form works as a Single entry visa and has 30 days after arrival of validity, enabling you to stay 30 days per entry in the territory. You can enter Chile from Santiago de Chile, other major cities, or go directly to Easter Island.

Entry Requirements: What documents are required for the application?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires some information for the Entry Form application. The applicant needs to provide the following documents:

  • A valid passport (with at least six months of validity)

  • Proof of hotel reservation. Accommodation must be a tourist service authorized by SERNATUR.

  • An invitation letter from the host with his/her personal information. This applies only if someone from Easter Island has invited you.

  • Return ticket

  • Vaccination certificate issued by approved authorities.

  • Email address

  • Payment method. You can use a credit or debit card.

Besides the entry requirements, you may need an international driving permit to drive on the island and have more autonomy to explore; health insurance, with minimum coverage for overseas medical costs. These two items aren't mandatory for the trip, but they can be handy.

Do I need a Unique Entry Form if I'm transiting through the Island?

No, the Unique Entry Form is not necessary if you are transiting Chilean territory. Otherwise, it is mandatory to enter Easter Island.
