The China Business M visa, also known as the M-class visa, is designed for foreign nationals conducting commercial and trade activities in China.
Understanding the rules and requirements is crucial for a successful application process.
Understanding China business M visa requirements
Make sure you have the following before you apply:
- A valid passport with at least 6 months validity and blank pages
- Recent passport-style photograph
- Proof of onward travel
- Confirmed hotel reservations
- Business invitation letter from a Chinese company
- Completed visa application form (visit the website of the Chinese Embassy in your country)
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your planned departure date from China. We recommend having at least two blank pages in your passport for visa stamps and entry/exit stamps.
iVisa Pro Tip: Based on customer feedback, having a detailed invitation letter that clearly states the purpose of your visit and includes all required company details significantly increases approval chances.
China Business M Visa: Entry and duration rules
The Chinese business visa typically allows for a single entry, though multiple-entry options are available for certain nationalities.
Your Chinese Business M Visa expires 10 years after being issued. You can stay a maximum of 30 days per entry.
While possible, visa extensions require visiting local Public Security Bureau offices. We recommend applying for the appropriate duration initially to avoid extension complications.
iVisa Pro Tip: Many successful applicants recommend applying at least five days before their intended travel date to allow time for potential document revisions.
"With the M visa, I had to provide proof of multiple planned visits, including signed contracts and letters from Chinese companies. They were extremely strict about the invitation letters, which needed to be stamped with the company's official seal. Without that, the consulate won’t even consider your application." - Dean F., Australia
