As a Vietnamese citizen, you must get a China Tourist Visa before traveling to China.

Do Vietnamese citizens need a visa for China?

Yes, Vietnamese citizens need a visa to enter China. The type of visa will depend on the purpose of the trip, whether tourism, business, study, or work. Check the visa options below.

Chinese visas for citizens from Vietnam

Here are some of the Chinese visa types you can apply for with us:

  • China Tourist Visa: You need this visa when traveling to China for tourism purposes. It allows a short stay period and the visa requirements include providing sufficient travel funds, and you must prove your intentions to return to your home country after the allowed stay.

  • China Business Visa: Traveling for business purposes, such as to attend conferences, meetings, or negotiations, you’ll need a business visa. You can choose a visa for single or multiple entries. A letter of invitation from your Chinese business partner is among the requirements to apply for this visa.

You can apply with us and take advantage of our embassy visa services, or choose to apply directly with the Chinese Government.

How long is the China Tourist Visa valid?

We only offer the single entry Chinese Tourist Visa to Vietnamese citizens, which is valid for 90 days, and for one single entry into China.

Can I get a Chinese Tourist Visa extension?

A Chinese Tourist Visa allows Vietnamese citizens to stay in the country for up to 30-60 days. However, if you need to stay longer, you can request a visa extension from the China Embassy. Ensure you apply for the extension before your visa-allocated stay is over. Check the China Embassy website for further information about visa extensions.

China Tourist Visa requirements for Vietnamese citizens

When applying for a China tourist visa with us, you'll receive a complete list of all the documents you need to present to the immigration officer according to your application and situation. However, here are the general visa requirements for Vietnamese passport holders.

  • A recent passport-size photo.

  • Copy of your original passport. It must show the passport information page.

  • A completed application form.

  • Travel details - Such as flight tickets, travel itinerary, attractions tickets, and a hotel reservation or invitation letters from your hosts in China.

  • Enough funds to cover your trip to China - Bank statements from the last three months to prove at least US$ 100 per day in China.

  • If you apply for a visa in a different country than your citizenship, you must submit documents proving your legal residency status there.

  • Chinese citizens residing overseas or those who have obtained foreign citizenship, you should submit a copy of previous Chinese passports, Chinese permanent residence permits, or previous Chinese visas.
