If you're planning a trip from India to France, you’ll need a visa.
Although visa applications can sometimes feel overwhelming, we're here to provide you with all the information you need so that you can apply with confidence.
Let's break down the process and help you step closer to your French escapade. Soon, you’ll be savoring a crisp Bordeaux in a cozy Parisian café or marveling at the historical splendors of Lyon.
Do Indian citizens need a France Schengen Visa?
Yes, if you're an Indian citizen planning a trip to France, you'll need a visa.
A France Schengen Visa allows you to visit France for tourism, business meetings, or visiting friends and family for short stays—up to 90 days within a six-month period. The number of entries is determined by the immigration officer who will review your application. The visa can be issued as a single, double, or multiple-entry permit.
The France Schengen Visa is your key to not only France but also allows you to travel across all 27 countries in the Schengen Zone. However, France should be the first country you visit if it's the main destination of your journey or where you plan to spend most of your travel days.
If you have other needs, like working, studying, or staying longer than 90 days, you'll need a different travel permit. For more information on the different types of visas offered by France, please visit France-Visas, the official website for French visa applications.

How to get a France Schengen Visa from India
Although we currently don’t handle Schengen Visa applications, we can provide the information you need to apply confidently.
Here’s how to do it:
-
Go to the France-Visas website and use the visa wizard to determine which visa best suits your travel needs.
-
Gather the required documents for your visa application (the visa wizard will provide a list of the documents you need and the visa fees). Documents in languages other than French or English may need to be translated into French.
-
Create an account on the France-Visas website and complete the visa application form. Once you’re done, print it out.
-
Book an appointment to submit your visa application on the VFS Global website.
-
Submit your visa application and the supporting documents in person on the day of your visa appointment at the chosen VFS Center. You’ll also pay the visa processing fees and have your biometric data collected on that day.
-
Wait for the application to be processed, which generally takes between 15 and 45 days. We recommend that you apply for your visa well in advance of your trip so as not to disrupt your travel plans. You can track the status of your application on the VFS website.
-
Collect your passport from the VFS Center. If your application is successful, the visa will be affixed to your passport.
