Do I need to pay tourist tax in Bali?
Yes. If Bali is on your itinerary, you’ll need to pay a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (about €8.50). This is a regional tax that applies only to visitors entering or staying in Bali.
You can pay online before your trip on the Love Bali website. While checkpoints aren’t everywhere, you may be asked to show proof of payment at Bali’s airport or at certain tourist sites.
“Be careful with street food and tap water,” says Nicole Grimm, an iVisa travel contributor. “Many first-time visitors to Indonesia have had stomach issues after eating at roadside stalls. Stick to restaurants in malls and always drink bottled water. Even a small amount of tap water can cause problems if you’re not used to it.”
