Do I need to pay tourist tax in Bali?

Yes. If Bali is on your itinerary, you’ll need to pay a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (about AED 35). This is a regional tax that applies only to visitors entering or staying in Bali.

You can pay online before your trip on the Love Bali website. While checkpoints aren’t everywhere, you may be asked to show proof of payment at Bali’s airport or at certain tourist sites.

“Don’t rely on airport SIM card kiosks; they’re often overpriced,” says Maritza Gardner, an iVisa travel reporter. “Instead, pre-order a local Indonesian SIM via Klook or pick one up at Circle K stores near your hotel. You'll usually get more data at a better price.”
