What is the Kurdistan eVisa?
The Kurdistan eVisa is a mandatory electronic visa that grants foreign nationals permission to enter and travel within the autonomous Kurdistan Region in Northern Iraq.
The Kurdistan Regional Government introduced the eVisa to simplify the visa application process. It is completed entirely online, eliminating the need to visit an embassy or consulate.
Note that the electronic visa is only valid for entry into the Kurdistan Region and cannot be used for travel into federal Iraq.

Who can apply for the Kurdistan eVisa?

Visa-exempt: Who doesn't need to apply for Kurdistan eVisa?
As of March 2023, most travelers to Kurdistan will need a visa.
However, If you were born in Iraq, you don’t need a visa to enter Kurdistan.
Do minors have to apply for the Kurdistan eVisa?
Yes, they do. Children from eligible countries also need this eVisa to enter Kurdistan, and they can’t travel alone.
Kids or other minors not born in Iraq, but traveling with parents born in Iraq won't need a visa.
Kurdistan eVisa validity: How long is the Kurdistan eVisa valid?
This is a Single entry travel document. That means that you can only enter Kurdistan once during your trip.
The permitted stay in Kurdistan is 30 days per entry and you must enter Kurdistan within 90 days after issuance of the eVisa.
Can I extend my Kurdistan eVisa?
If you need to extend your stay beyond 30 days, you can do so for up to 90 days at any of the three KRG Residency Offices in Erbil, Duhok, or Sulaimania.
This extension can be applied twice, not more than 90 days in total. Find the location of the KRG Residency Office in Erbil here.

Do I need the Kurdistan eVisa to transit through the country?
If you intend to leave the airport you'll require a visa to travel to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. You can no longer get visas on arrival for this region and therefore must apply for an eVisa in advance.
If you plan to travel outside of Kurdistan to other regions of Iraq, you must obtain an Iraqi visa.
