Are you planning a trip from Pakistan to Ireland? Here's everything you need to know about applying for an Ireland tourist visa.

Do Pakistani citizens need an Ireland tourist visa?

Yes, Pakistani citizens need a visa to visit Ireland. The Ireland Short-Stay (C) Visit Visa, commonly known as the Ireland tourist visa, allows Pakistanis to stay in the Republic of Ireland for up to 90 days. This visa covers tourism, visiting family or friends, attending short-term educational courses, seeking medical treatment, or getting married. However, working (paid or voluntary) and accessing publicly funded services are prohibited.

If your trip to Ireland is for work, study, or family reunification, you must apply for a different type of visa through the Irish Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) website.

"I found the process straightforward, as long as you have all your documents ready. It helps to prepare your supporting documents in advance to avoid delays." — Asim from Karachi.

How to apply for an Ireland tourist visa from Pakistan

Although we currently don’t handle Irish visa applications, here's a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

1.Visit the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website and complete the visa application form. Once filled out, print the completed form.

2.Gather the required documents, including:

  • Printed visa application form and summary sheet
  • A cover letter explaining your travel purpose and itinerary
  • Your Pakistani passport (plus copies of previous passports)
  • Two recent passport photos
  • Travel health insurance policy
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host letter)
  • Bank statements from the last six months
  • Evidence of ties to Pakistan, such as a marriage certificate or family registration certificate

"Make sure your financial documents are thorough. My visa took longer to process because my bank statement wasn’t clear." — Ahmed from Islamabad shared with us.

3.Book a visa appointment on the VFS Global website and submit your application in person at your chosen VFS Global Center.

4.Track your application status on the VFS website by using your reference number and date of birth. Processing times can take up to 8 weeks, so apply well in advance.

5.Collect your passport from the VFS Center once your application has been processed. If successful, the visa will be affixed to your passport.

"I applied about 10 weeks before my travel date and received my visa just in time. Don’t wait until the last minute!" — Sameera from Lahore.
