Ireland Tourist Visa for Pakistani citizens

Planning a trip from Pakistan to Ireland? Here’s how to apply for your visa.

Getting an Irish visa can seem tough, but it’s easier when you know what to do. We’re here to help you understand the process of applying for an Ireland Tourist Visa.

Fill me in

Let’s walk through the essential steps to apply for your visa to Ireland. Soon, you’ll be wandering through Cork’s historic streets, soaking up the creative atmosphere in Galway, or hiking in the lush Wicklow Mountains.

Do Pakistani citizens need an Ireland Tourist Visa?

Yes, Pakistani citizens who want to travel to Ireland must get a visa before entering the country. The Ireland Short-Stay (C) Visit Visa, also known as the Ireland Tourist Visa, allows Pakistanis to visit the Republic of Ireland for no longer than 90 days.

With an Ireland Tourist Visa, you can travel to the country as a tourist, visit family and friends, enroll in short-term educational courses, seek medical treatment, or get married. However, you’re not allowed to do any work, whether it’s paid or voluntary, and you won’t have access to publicly funded services, like a public hospital.

If the purpose of your travel is to study, work, join family, or live in Ireland, you must apply for a different kind of travel permit. Please visit the Irish Immigration Service Delivery website to learn about the various types of Irish visas.

How to get an Ireland Tourist Visa from Pakistan

Fill me in

Although we currently don’t handle Irish visa applications, we can provide the information you need to apply confidently.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website and carefully fill out the visa application form. Once you’re done, print the completed form.

  2. Gather the required documents. These typically include a printed visa application form and summary sheet, a cover letter stating why you want to visit Ireland and your travel itinerary, your Pakistani passport and copies of previous passports, 2 recent passport photos, travel health insurance policy, hotel and flight reservations, bank statements for the last six months, and evidence of ties to Pakistan, like a marriage certificate or family registration certificate. For an up-to-date list of the required documents, please get in touch with the Irish Honorary Consulate in Pakistan (contact details below).

  3. Book your visa appointment on the VFS Global website.

  4. Submit your visa application and the supporting documents in person at your chosen VFS Global Center.

  5. Wait for the application to be processed, which generally takes 8 weeks. We recommend that you apply for your visa well in advance of your trip so as not to disrupt your travel plans. You can track the status of your application on the VFS website. You’ll need to provide your application reference number and date of birth.

  6. Collect your passport from the VFS Center. If your application is successful, the visa will be affixed to your passport.
