Do Pakistani citizens need a Luxembourg Schengen Visa?
Yes, Pakistani citizens must obtain a Schengen Visa for travel to Luxembourg. This visa permits short-term visits, allowing you to stay up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or travel to Luxembourg and other Schengen Area countries.
With a Luxembourg Schengen Visa, you can explore many Schengen countries, making it a great opportunity to visit multiple destinations within Europe during your trip.
How to apply for a Luxembourg Schengen Visa
Currently, we do not offer the Luxembourg Schengen Visa service, but we recommend applying through the European Commission.
For now, follow these steps to apply for a Luxembourg Schengen Visa through the official government process:
Steps to apply through the government:
1.Gather the required documents:
-
A valid Pakistani passport (valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure from the Schengen Area)
-
Completed Schengen Visa application form
-
Recent passport-size photo (follow Schengen photo guidelines)
-
Proof of travel itinerary (flight tickets, accommodation bookings)
-
Proof of financial means to cover your stay (bank statements)
-
Travel insurance covering at least €30,000
-
Additional documents depending on your travel purpose (business, tourism, etc.)
"Booking hotels through platforms like Booking.com or Agoda, with the option to cancel, is a smart move. If your visa is denied, you won’t be stuck with non-refundable reservations," advises our travel journalist, Kerri Gregory.
2.Submit the application:
Visit the Belgian Embassy in Islamabad, as they handle Luxembourg visa applications for Pakistan. You may need to schedule an appointment ahead of time.
3.Attend your visa interview:
On the day of your appointment, bring all required documents and be prepared to answer questions about your trip. Your biometrics will also be collected.
"If you're staying with family or friends, ensure their home has enough space for you. Visa counselors might evaluate your host’s residence, so providing details about the number of rooms will save you time," says Kerri.
4.Pay the visa fee:
Pay the official Schengen Visa fee at the embassy.
5.Wait for processing:
The embassy will process your visa application. If approved, your Schengen Visa will be affixed to your passport.
