Planning your journey to Mexico from Venezuela? We’re here to help you understand how to get your visa.

Do Venezuelan citizens need a visa to visit Mexico?

Venezuelan citizens planning to visit Mexico must get a visa before traveling to the country.

If you’re traveling for tourism or business, you’ll need to apply for a Mexico Tourist Visa at the Mexican embassy in Venezuela. This visa allows for a maximum stay of up to 180 days per visit. However, there is an exception to this rule.

You don’t need to apply for a Mexican visa if you meet one of the following conditions:

  1. You hold a valid multiple-entry visa from Canada, the USA, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or any of the countries in the Schengen Area.

  2. You’re a permanent resident of Canada, the USA, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Japan, a Schengen member state, or any member country of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, and Peru).

The visa or residence permit, along with your passport, must remain valid for the duration of your stay in Mexico.

Although we don’t handle Mexico Tourist Visa applications, we can provide the information you need to apply confidently.

To get a Mexico Visa from Venezuela, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Mexitel appointment scheduling system website and create an account.

  2. Book the most suitable time for your visa appointment. After scheduling, you’ll receive a confirmation letter for the embassy visit.

  3. Download and complete the visa application form from the Embassy of Mexico in Venezuela website.

  4. Gather all the required documents. The list of documents can be found on the embassy’s website.

  5. On your appointment day, bring the required documents (originals and copies), the completed application form, and the appointment confirmation letter to the Mexican embassy. During your visit, you will undergo biometric data collection, attend a visa interview, and pay the visa fee. You’ll also be informed when to return and collect your passport.

  6. Wait for your visa application to be processed. If approved, your passport will have the Mexico visa affixed to it when you pick it up.

To enter the country by land, you’ll need a Mexico Tourist Card (Forma Migratoria Múltiple or FMM) in addition to a Mexican visa. This is not a visa but a permit required for all foreigners, including those who are visa-exempt.
