Summary
  • Namibia visa policy for Brazilians: Brazilian travelers don't need a visa for Namibia for 90 days per calendar year.

  • Want to stay longer? If you exceed the 90-day limit or are traveling for different purposes (e.g., work, study, volunteering), you must apply for the appropriate visa or permit in advance.

  • Avoid common mistakes: Make sure to read the entry rules for Namibia before you go.

Namibia is a dream destination for Brazilians, whether you're planning a thrilling desert safari or a luxurious escape to Sossusvlei.

Before you embark on your adventure, here’s what you need to know about Namibia’s visa policy for Brazilian travelers.

We’ve got all the details and tips to make your trip hassle-free.

Do Brazilians need a visa for Namibia?

Good news for Brazilian passport holders! Brazilian citizens can enter Namibia visa-free for stays of up to 90 days within a 12-month period.

This makes Namibia an easy and accessible destination for your next getaway.

However, there are still a few things you should keep in mind to ensure your trip goes smoothly.

Traveling to Namibia: Tips and insights

Even though you don’t need a visa, here’s how to make sure your visit is hassle-free:

1. Check your passport

Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date. You’ll also need at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.

2. Prepare proof of accommodation

Whether it’s a hotel reservation, Airbnb, or an invitation letter from a friend or host, you’ll need to show proof of where you’ll be staying in Namibia.

3. Have a return or onward travel ticket

You’ll need a return ticket or proof of onward travel to show that you intend to leave Namibia within the allowed 90-day period.

4. Plan a basic travel itinerary
If you’re planning a longer stay or an extensive trip, having a basic itinerary with details of your accommodation and planned activities can be helpful.

5. Proof of funds
Be prepared to show that you have enough funds to support yourself during your stay in Namibia. This can be in the form of a recent bank statement or other evidence of financial resources.

Important to keep in mind when entering Namibia

  • 90-day visa-free stay: Brazilian citizens can stay in Namibia visa-free for up to 90 days within a calendar year.
  • If you exceed the 90-day limit, you may face fines or deportation.
  • For stays longer than 90 days, or if you plan to work, study, or volunteer, you’ll need to apply for the appropriate visa.

What you can do during your stay

With visa-free entry, you can:

✔️ Tour the country – Enjoy Namibia’s famous safaris, stunning deserts, and beautiful beaches.

✔️ Visit family or friends – Stay with relatives or friends living in Namibia.

✔️ Attend workshops and meetings – As long as you’re not the facilitator, you can attend events like conferences or business meetings.

✔️ Explore business opportunities – You can network and conduct market research.

✔️ Seek medical treatment – If you need healthcare, Namibia offers excellent medical facilities.

What you cannot do without a visa

Without a visa, you cannot:

Work – You’re not allowed to work for a Namibian company or organization.

Study – If you intend to study or research, you must apply for the appropriate visa.

Volunteer – Volunteer work that would typically require a work permit is not allowed.

💡 Femke Strietman, iVisa travel expert, adds:

"While you can visit Namibia without a visa to attend business meetings, an important distinction is that you can't be the facilitator of the meeting, which is considered working in the country."

For more details on entry requirements, you can visit the Namibian Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security or contact the nearest Namibian embassy or consulate.
