Last updated: July 2025
Sorting out travel forms shouldn’t take over your plans. We’re here to help you complete your New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD) quickly and easily, so you can focus on your journey.
This digital form is required for most travelers to New Zealand, including New Zealand citizens and residents. With us, the process is clear, fast, and handled before you fly.
What is the New Zealand Traveller Declaration?
The New Zealand Traveller Declaration is a digital form that collects your travel, customs, immigration, and biosecurity information before you arrive in New Zealand. It replaces the paper declaration traditionally filled out on the plane, making your arrival smoother.
Application method | When to complete | Required for |
---|---|---|
Online form or NZTD app | Within 24 hours before your trip | Most travelers, including New Zealand citizens and residents |
Once completed, your declaration is linked to your passport and checked at eGates or by a border officer when you arrive.
Who needs to complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration?
All travelers entering New Zealand by air or sea must complete the NZTD, including New Zealand passport holders, visa holders, NZeTA holders, babies, and children (parents/guardians can complete it on their behalf).
Transit passengers who remain in the airport transit area do not need to complete the NZTD.
🚨 In emergencies, such as medical evacuations or rescue at sea, the requirement may not apply.
What you’ll need to complete the NZTD

✔️Contact details in New Zealand (use the first address if staying in multiple places)
✔️Travel history for the past 30 days
