Requirements for a Portugal Schengen Visa

To apply for a Portugal Schengen Visa as a Pakistani citizen, you will need to gather several key documents. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Visa application form: Complete and sign the form in English or Portuguese.

  • Recent photograph: A passport-sized photograph (35mm x 45mm) taken within the last 6 months.

  • Valid passport: Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended stay, issued within the last 10 years, and have at least two blank pages.

  • Proof of accommodation: Hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a host in Portugal.

  • Travel itinerary: A detailed schedule of your travel plans, including flight bookings.

  • Travel medical insurance: Must cover at least EUR 30,000 in medical expenses, valid for all Schengen countries.

  • Proof of financial means: A recent bank statement (last 6 months) and proof of income, such as tax returns or salary slips

  • Character check: If you're over 16, you must submit a valid Police Character Certificate with your visa application.

Be sure that all documents are in English or Portuguese, and make sure to prepare photocopies of your Pakistani ID card and, if applicable, any previous visas.

iVisa pro tip: When applying for a Portugal Schengen Visa, your bank must show at least €75/day for your stay (around PKR 23,000/day). For example, if you plan to stay for 10 days, you should have at least €750 (approximately PKR 230,000 or USD $800) available in your bank account. Make sure your bank statements reflect this amount consistently over the last six months rather than showing sudden large deposits. Consistent account activity reassures visa officers of your financial stability, increasing your chances of approval.
