Serbia Visa Policy

As per the Serbia Visa Policy, all visitors are required to obtain a visa from the Serbian diplomatic missions except when they come from one of the visa-exempt countries. The Government of Serbia as per the agreements, allows citizens of certain countries to visit Serbia for tourism as well as business purposes without obtaining a visa.

However, citizens of other countries have to obtain a visa from either the Embassy or Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in the resident country.

As per the Serbia Visa Policy, some general entry requirements to be fulfilled for Serbia are as follows:

• Valid passport or any other travel document
• Valid visa, if a Serbian visa is required for passport holders of the respective country
• Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia. To be proved by possession of the appropriate amount of cash, bank statement, traveler's cheques, credit cards, or a letter of guarantee;
• Due to pandemic, a Certificate of vaccination that the visitor has not contracted a contagious disease despite coming from an area affected by a pandemic
• If underage children are traveling with one of their parents, a certified authorization by the other parent is required to be submitted. In case the child is traveling with a third person, such authorization is required from both the parents or guardians.

Who is exempt from Visa Requirements?

Serbia Visa Policy states that citizens and holders of ordinary passports of the following countries are permitted to stay in Serbia without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180 days:

B. Citizens and holders of ordinary passports of the following countries are permitted to stay in Serbia without a visa for 30 days:

• Belarus
• China
• Colombia
• Kazakhstan
• Russia
• Suriname

C. Citizens and holders of ordinary passports of the following countries are permitted to stay in Serbia without a visa for 30 days within a 60-day period:

• Ukraine

D. Citizens and holders of ordinary passports of the following countries are permitted to stay in Serbia without a visa for 30 days within a one-year period

• Bahamas
• Barbados
• Burundi
• Colombia
• Guinea-Bissau
• India
• Indonesia
• Paraguay
• Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

E. Citizens and holders of ordinary passports of the following countries are permitted to stay in Serbia without a visa for 14 days

• Hong Kong

F. Diplomatic and official passports

Only holders of diplomatic and official passports of the countries given below are exempt from visas requirements for Serbia for up to 90 days (unless otherwise stated)

G. Serbia Visa Requirements for Kosovo Citizens Kosovo citizens can enter Serbia without a visa.

Tourist Visa Policy for Serbia

According to the Serbia Visa Policy, a visitor seeking to visit Serbia for tourism purposes is granted a Serbia Tourist Visa. Tourist visa holders are not allowed to carry out any business or work activities in Serbia.

Requirements following the Serbia Visa Policy:

• Passport (valid for minimum of 90 days from date of issue of visa)
• Letter of invitation
• Proof of payment for the trip issued by a travel agency (voucher or any other payment receipt)
• Completed visa application form
• Passport photograph
• Return ticket or Itinerary
• Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia;
• Health insurance
• Visa fee

Applicants shall submit visa applications to the Embassy or Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia abroad.

Other Visas for Serbia

• Residence visa/work visa

As per the Serbia Visa Policy, to live and work in Serbia, a foreign national will be required to apply for a temporary residence permit (for nationals requiring a visa, a temporary residence visa has to be obtained before entry)

To obtain a temporary visa for employment purposes, foreign nationals are required to secure a job offer from a Serbian company or government department or a foreign company based in Serbia.

Requirements to get an employment visa approved

• Suitable educational qualifications or work experience
• Secured employment contract in Serbia
• Proof of adequate means of subsistence in Serbia
• Police confirmation that you have no criminal record
• Satisfactory medical examination

All official documents must be translated into Serbian.

• Permanent residence

Permanent residency in Serbia can be acquired:

• After five years of temporary residency, or

• After three years of temporary residency if married to a Serbian citizen and on special grounds.

• Serbia Family, Relative or Friend Visit Visa

It is issued to those who wish to visit a family member or a friend residing in Serbia. An invitation letter from the person whom you are visiting is required.

• Serbia Cultural, Sports or Conference Visit Visa

This Serbia Visa Policy states that it is granted to those who are going to attend a cultural event in Serbia. An invitation from the receiving association and confirmation documents from the supervising ministry is required in the application along with other supporting documentation.

• Serbia Short-Term Education or Internship Visa

Issued to students who intend to study in the country for educational purposes. The applicant has to provide supporting documentation including proof of adequate accommodation means, admission letter from the institution. If the student cannot provide adequate financial means for himself/herself, sponsorship documents are required to be attached.

• Serbia Transit Visa

A Serbia transit visa permits travel to a third country from Serbia for up to five days’ stay and can be issued for one or more transits. For the issuance of a transit visa, an entry visa of the country traveler is entering after the Republic of Serbia. In case a visa is not required for that country, documents explaining the purpose of the visit is required

Additional Information for Serbian Visa

Following the Serbia Visa Policy, the diplomatic-consular mission of the Republic of Serbia has the exclusive right to request additional documentation. Reciprocity
