This guide will walk you through the intricacies of the Seychelles visa policy, ensuring you're well-prepared for your tropical getaway.
Understanding the Seychelles visa-free policy
- Seychelles operates under a universal unilateral visa waiver system.
- Most foreign nationals don't need a traditional visa to enter.
- Visitor must get a Travel Authorization before arrival.
- Visitors receive a Visitor's Permit upon arrival.
Foreign nationals who visit Seychelles are granted visa-free access. They are not required to obtain a Seychelles Visa. However, they must have a Travel Authorization, containing basic information about the traveler’s immigration and health status, and get a Visitor's Permit upon arrival.

The difference is that a Seychelles Visitors Permit upon Arrival is issued free of charge and is valid for up to 3 months. However, later on, it can be extended in 3-month increments with a further extension not exceeding the total period of 12 months.
Requirements for the Seychelles Travel Authorization
Requirements to obtain Seychelles Travel Authorization are:
- Valid return/onward ticket.
- Confirmed accommodation, or letter of invitation if staying with friends or relatives; and
- Sufficient funds for the duration of the tour stay. Financial resources are allowed to be carried in cash. Travelers' cheques or credit cards.
If a traveler wishes to stay more than 90 days, the duration of stay can be extended in increments of 3 months up to one year, as long as the requirements, conditions, and other documents are properly executed.
An immigration form is handed out by the flight crew shortly before landing. Travelers should complete it and hand it over at the time of entry.
iVisa Pro tip: We recommend carrying a printed copy of your accommodation booking and return ticket. This can streamline the entry process and help avoid any potential issues at immigration.
