Singapore eVisa validity: How long it lasts & what travelers need to know
iVisa

Updated on Jun 09, 2025
Summary
  • The Singapore eVisa can be used for 63 days, but you can only stay for up to 30 days per entry
  • Your stay is determined by immigration officers upon arrival, so the validity of your eVisa doesn’t guarantee a long visit
  • You can’t renew a Singapore eVisa, but you can apply for a new one before the current one expires

Singapore is a popular destination for business and leisure travelers, and its eVisa makes visiting easier for many nationalities. But before making any plans, it’s important to know how long your eVisa will be valid to avoid disruptions.

The Singapore eVisa is valid for 63 days from the date it’s issued, and travelers are typically allowed to stay for up to 30 days per entry. To avoid any last-minute issues, it's best to apply ahead of time and ensure your travel dates align with the validity of your eVisa.

Understanding Singapore eVisa validity

If you're planning a trip to Singapore, it’s essential to know how long your eVisa remains valid so you can enter the country without issues.

The Singapore eVisa is valid for 63 days from the date it’s issued, meaning you must arrive in Singapore before it expires. Once the validity period ends, the eVisa can no longer be used, and you’ll need to apply for a new one.

Singapore eVisa validity vs. duration of stay: What’s the difference?

Your eVisa validity determines when you can enter Singapore but doesn’t dictate how long you can stay. That’s where the duration of stay comes in. Typically, travelers with a Singapore eVisa are allowed a maximum stay of 30 days per entry.

However, after helping many travelers apply for a Singapore eVisa, we’ve seen that applications for longer stays are often rejected. To make the process easier and improve the chances of approval, we recommend keeping your stay to 15 days or less per visit when applying through our platform.

Even if your eVisa remains valid for weeks, your actual stay is determined by the entry conditions set by Singapore’s immigration officers when you arrive.

A practical example

Let’s say your eVisa is issued on January 1st and remains valid for 63 days, expiring on March 4th. You plan to fly to Singapore on February 20th and stay until March 10th.

You're allowed entry since your eVisa is still valid when you arrive. However, your permitted stay depends on what the immigration officer grants upon arrival. If you’re given 15 days, you’ll need to leave by March 6th, even though your original plan was to stay longer.

To avoid last-minute adjustments, ensure your trip dates fit within your eVisa’s validity and your approved duration of stay.

iVisa travel hack: A long layover at Changi Airport doesn’t have to mean sitting around at the gate. For SGD 20 (around USD 15), non-guests can access the rooftop swimming pool and jacuzzi at the Aerotel Transit Hotel in Terminal 1. Towels and showers are included, making it a great way to refresh before your next flight.

How to check your Singapore eVisa validity

Once your Singapore eVisa is approved, you'll receive a document with all the key details, including the validity period. This information is usually listed near the top of the eVisa and shows the dates between which the visa can be used for entry.

Cross-check your eVisa details with your passport. The information on your passport and the eVisa must match exactly.

If you applied for your Singapore eVisa through us and notice any mistakes, whether it’s incorrect personal details or an issue with the validity dates, reach out to our customer support team right away.

Any inaccuracies could lead to delays at immigration or even denied entry into the country.

Can I renew my Singapore eVisa?

You must apply for a new one if your Singapore eVisa expires before your planned travel dates. Singapore does not allow eVisa extensions or renewals, so once your visa expires, it can no longer be used for entry.

To avoid last-minute issues, it’s best to apply for a new eVisa about 30 days before your intended arrival to ensure it remains valid for your trip.

You can apply for a new Singapore eVisa even if your current one hasn’t expired yet. However, each application is reviewed separately, and approval is not guaranteed.

Submitting a new application does not extend the validity of an existing eVisa. If your plans change and you need a new visa, submitting a fresh application is better than assuming the existing one will cover your trip.

Can I apply for a Singapore eVisa online myself?

You can’t apply for a Singapore eVisa entirely alone. The application must be submitted by a local Singaporean sponsor who is at least 21 years old and has a Singpass account, or through an authorized visa agent.

At iVisa, we take care of this for you by working with an authorized visa agent in Singapore. Instead of finding a sponsor or navigating the process yourself, you can confidently apply through us.

99% of the applicants who use our service receive their Singapore eVisa on the first attempt.

Before submitting, our team carefully reviews each application to check for errors or missing details, helping prevent delays or rejections.

iVisa pro tip: Travelers flying with Scoot, AirAsia, or other budget airlines without checked luggage can speed up their exit by using the Terminal 1 Budget Departure Exit instead of the main immigration lines. It’s usually less crowded, meaning a much faster way out of the airport.
