Understanding Taiwan visa requirements for Nepalese passport holders

The Taiwan visa application process for Nepalese citizens currently requires a traditional paper visa obtained through the embassy.

While the ROC Travel Authorization Certificate is available to citizens of 23 countries, Nepalese citizens are not yet eligible for this electronic authorization.

However, the list of eligible countries continues to expand, potentially including Nepal in the future. We will update this page if the eligibility for Nepalese passport holders changes.

For Nepalese citizens, Taiwan currently allows a maximum stay of 30 days from the arrival date. This aligns with standard tourist visa regulations, though specific conditions may apply based on your purpose of visit.

You can apply for the Taiwanese Embassy Visa via the official government portal.

Requirements for Nepalese citizens applying for the Taiwan embassy visa

Key requirements for Nepalese applicants include:

  • Valid passport with at least 6 months validity.
  • Completed visa application form.
  • Recent passport-sized photograph.
  • Proof of travel arrangements.
  • Financial documentation.
  • Purpose of visit evidence.

Based on customer feedback, we recommend preparing your bank statements at least three months in advance of your application. This helps demonstrate financial stability and increases approval chances.

Our travel expert Kerri Gregory recommends:

"Make sure to submit evidence of your purpose of traveling to Taiwan, such as a confirmed tour reservation, to minimize your chances of rejection."

Tips for entering and traveling to Taiwan

Here are some additional tips for your trip to Taiwan from recent travelers:

  • The most important documents you should have are your return ticket, and your hotel accommodation(s). These should be presented only when the Immigration Officer asks.

  • Be prepared to show proof of funds, just in case you are asked on arrival. This does not necessarily mean a bank statement, but you may show the balance in your online banking apps if asked.

"I have a friend who just told the Immigration Officer she'll be using her credit cards to fund her trip and that was accepted, no proof asked." - Lilian M., recent traveler

  • Make sure to apply well in advance, as technical issues on the Taiwanese government website and many applications during the peak season may cause delays.

"Government websites are down all the time, especially on weekends." - Tim B., recent traveler

  • Currency exchange counters are available in the airport arrivals area. While rates might be better in the city, it's convenient to exchange a small amount for immediate expenses.
