If you’re a Pakistani citizen planning to visit Tanzania, you will need a visa to enter the country. While we don’t offer this service, you can apply for a visa through the Tanzanian government’s online portal or by visiting a Tanzanian embassy or consulate.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply for a Tanzania visa.

Types of Tanzania visas for Pakistani citizens

1.Single-entry visa: Valid for a maximum stay of 90 days.

2.Multiple-entry visa: Valid for up to 12 months, with a maximum stay of 90 days per visit.

Both visa options are available online via the official Tanzania Immigration website or through an in-person application at the Tanzanian embassy in Pakistan.

How to apply for a Tanzania visa online

Pakistani citizens can apply for a Tanzania visa using the Tanzania eVisa system. This process is convenient and can be completed from the comfort of your home.

Tanzania

Step-by-step process:

1.Access the eVisa portal: Visit the official Tanzania Immigration eVisa website at Tanzania Immigration eVisa.

2.Fill out the application form: Provide your details, passport information, and travel itinerary. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay in Tanzania.

3.Upload the required documents:

  • A scanned copy of your passport bio page.

  • A recent passport-sized photograph.

  • Flight details and proof of accommodation.

4.Payment: Pay the visa fee using a valid credit/debit card.

5.Processing time: Once submitted, the visa processing time can range from 10 to 30 days, depending on your application and the time of year.

6.Receive your eVisa: After approval, you will receive the visa via email. Make sure to print it out and carry it with you when traveling.

"To avoid last-minute issues, always check the visa requirements carefully and apply at least a month before your trip to ensure you don’t run into any delays," advises our travel journalist Cynthia Olawe.

What documents do Pakistani citizens need to apply?

  • Valid passport: Ensure your passport has a minimum of six months’ validity.

  • Passport-size photo: Upload a recent photograph.

  • Proof of return flight: Provide a confirmed round-trip ticket.

  • Proof of accommodation: This could be a hotel booking or a host's invitation letter.

  • Yellow Fever Certificate: Required if traveling from a country with a risk of yellow fever.

How long can Pakistani citizens stay in Tanzania?

The single-entry visa allows a stay of up to 90 days, while the multiple-entry visa allows multiple visits, with each stay capped at 90 days per visit.

Tanzania visa fees and processing times for Pakistani citizens

The visa fees can vary depending on the type of visa and processing speed. Typically, the processing time ranges from 10 to 30 days. Be sure to apply in advance to avoid any last-minute delays.

"Try to avoid peak seasons for visa applications as processing times can be longer due to increased demand. Plan accordingly for your trip," advises Cynthia Olawe.

Can I apply in person?

You can apply in person by visiting the Tanzanian Embassy in Pakistan. Bring all the required documents, including your passport, photos, and supporting documents.
