Turkey e-Visa Common Errors
The Turkey e-visa system was meant to alleviate pressure on the embassies and consulates by streamlining visa applications. Unfortunately, the system is slightly flawed, and many people report getting the same error when applying for their Turkey e-Visa.
Multiple options can cause errors. Here are the things that could result in errors during your application process:
The purpose of your travel is not tourism or business
The Turkey e-Visa is only valid for short-stay tourism and business purposes. It will be rejected if you've stated you want to work or study in the e-visa application. So don't let the e-Visa error ruin your visit to Turkey, and only apply for it if you will be traveling for tourism or business.
Application is missing the supporting documents
Ensure you've followed the steps correctly and uploaded all necessary supporting documents. The documents required vary from country to country, and your nationality will determine what is needed.
You may need to attach your visa or residence permit for the Schengen zone, US, UK, or Ireland. If you don't upload the essential documents to the application, your visa will not be processed correctly. This may result in rejection or an error; you will need to reapply.
A mistake during the application, or the application is still being processed
Once you've completed the e-Visa application, you may not return to the online form. If you made a mistake along the way, you can't fix it after applying.
To avoid the stressful situation, we recommend using iVisa's platform, which will guide you through and enable you to make corrections. We also offer 24-hour customer support services for inquiries about the online process so that you can avoid any Turkey e-Visa errors.
Passport does not meet the validity requirements
When applying for a visa, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your desired date of arrival in Turkey. It could be rejected if your passport is expired or does not meet the correct validity requirements.
Your nationality is not eligible for an online visa
Although over 100 nationalities can apply for the Turkey e-Visa, some are still not eligible. Use our visa checker to see if you qualify for an e-visa or need to visit the nearest Turkish consulate or embassy to get your visa.
Turkey E-visa payment error
Aside from the errors mentioned above, many applicants have reported errors with the payment portal when paying the visa fee. Many people encounter the same error. Here are some common errors on the payment portal:
Did not make the payment within 24 hours
You will receive an “email address verification message,” after submitting your application. Then, you need to click the “approve” button and proceed with the payment within 24 hours. Otherwise, the application times out, the system will not accept payment, and you will need to start the application process again.
Unsupported payment method
During the payment step of your visa application, you will need to use a card to pay the visa fee. However, you should ensure that the card meets the Turkey eVisa requirements for payments. The payment portal only accepts Mastercard, Visa, or UnionPay cards.
The card must have a 3D Secure System and be eligible to make international payments. According to the Turkey e-Visa website, if you still have the same issue despite your card having all of these, try a different card or at another time. If the problem persists, you may need to contact your bank.
Or, skip the possibility of seeing an error message and let us take care of the application process for you.
