If you're a Canadian citizen planning to visit Brazil, it’s important to stay updated on the latest visa requirements. The Brazil eVisa requirement for Canadians has been postponed several times and is now set to begin on April 10, 2025.

This blog provides the essential information you need to know about how to apply once the eVisa system becomes available.

Do Canadian citizens need a Brazil eVisa?

At the moment, Canadian citizens do not need a visa to visit Brazil. The Brazilian government has postponed the implementation of the eVisa for nationals of Canada, the US, and Australia until April 10, 2025. Canadians traveling to Brazil before this deadline will not require a visa, even if their stay extends beyond April 10, 2025.

Once implemented, the Brazil eVisa will be necessary for tourism, business, or transit purposes. It will allow multiple entries, be valid for five years, and permit stays of up to 90 days per visit.
