You heard right. It’s time for endless blue skies, sunny beaches, and the white sand of Punta Cana as far as the eye can see. The Dominican Republic is once again open for tourism.
However, it’s no secret to anyone that COVID-19 has made it quite difficult to travel. For this reason, the Dominican Republic has decided to launch the Dominican Republic e-ticket to allow different tourists to enter the country while taking all the necessary precautions.
So how do you get the e-ticket? Why do you need it? And how do you use it? We’re here to answer all your questions. Read on to learn how you can get your e-ticket for travel to the Dominican Republic quickly and easily. Be on your way to the beach in no time with iVisa's easy 3 step process.
What is the Dominican Republic eticket?
The Dominican Republic eTicket is the digital form required by multiple institutions to enter or leave the Dominican Republic. It combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Embarkations in just one single document. (It does not replace a visa.)
Who needs the Dominican Republic e-ticket?
Anyone who wants to enter or leave the Dominican Republic has to complete it, whether they’re a national or a visitor. Consequently, all tourists are obliged to apply for the Dominican Republic eTicket to enter and exit the country legally and safely.
Although, take into account that if you are traveling with your family, you can apply one time and fill out the form with all the information of your other family members including minors.
When should I apply for the Dominican Republic eTicket?
You can apply for the Dominican Republic eTicket at any time–even on the same day that you travel. If you apply more than 60 days in advance, we’ll keep your application on hold and submit it for you when you're eligible to apply. Applying in advance is a great way to reduce travel stress and stay on top of your plans.
How long is the Dominican Republic eTicket valid for?
The e Ticket is a single entry document and is only valid on entry to the Dominican Republic, so you must apply for one each time you travel to the country.
The form can be filled out 72 hours before arrival to the Dominican Republic, until right before going through immigration you will have time to fill it out, but leaving it to the last minute is not recommended.
What documents will I need to apply for the e Ticket?
Unlike other online visa services, iVisa’s doesn’t require a pile of documents. All you need is your personal information, passport details, confirmed flight information, email address and a credit or debit card to pay the fees. We’ll take care of the rest.

iVisa’s safe, fast, and secure application and processing will get you the biggest bang for your buck, ensuring a smooth trip. As we mentioned, the price depends on which processing service you choose and whether you add on additional services.

Remember that once you’re at the airport the authorities will ask for it. Be prepared to show it in one of those physical or digital forms.
We also recommend that you follow government health protocols while traveling for your own safety. You can visit the FAQs below to view quarantine rules in the Dominican Republic.

Questions?
Is there is a time limit for the QR code?
Sarah J, USA | July 6, 2024
I'm flying out from Miami to Santo Domingo in a few weeks, and I filled out the Dominican Republic eTicket way back in June when I booked my ticket. I'm worried that the QR code might expire since it's been a while. I heard something about needing to do it within 72 hours of traveling. Is this true, or am I all set with the one I have?
Martin, iVisa | July 8, 2024
Before, the earliest you could apply for your eTicket was 72 hours before your travel date. This regulation has since changed; the eTicket can be filled out as soon as you have your flight information, even months in advance. There's no specified expiration time for the QR code once it has been generated. So you’re good to go with the QR code you have, as long as your details and the travel dates you provided remain unchanged.
What if I don't have a flight number?
Glen C, Canada | July 11, 2024
We’re traveling to the DR and have started the eTicket process. We’re flying into Punta Canta. We are however leaving the country via a cruise ship from La Romana. I can’t see any mention of cruise ships on the form and we don’t have a departure flight number. We want to get our departure QR codes at the same time as our entry codes. What should we put in that field on the form?
Martin, iVisa | July 12, 2024
Because you’re leaving the Dominican Republic via a cruise ship, you don’t need an eTicket for your departure. Passengers arriving or leaving on private flights, non-commercial vessels, ferries, cruise ships, etc., do not need to fill out an eTicket.
Do I need a new eTicket?
Gabriela S, Brazil | July 21, 2024
I was supposed to travel from São Paulo to Santo Domingo at the end of this week but just found out my flight has been pushed to a later date. Do I need to get a new Dominican Republic eTicket because of this change, or can I use the one I already have?
