What you need to know

  • Travelers must have a passport with at least 6-months validity from the date of arrival and have at least 1 page available for stamping.

  • Only nationals from Guinea, Congo and Mali can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization.

  • In order to obtain an ETA for Morocco, you will need to specify which point of entry you will be entering the country through.

  • You will need to present your Morocco ETA when you enter and exit the country.

  • Possession of an ETA for Morocco does not provide automatic right of entry for the holder into the country. The immigration officer at the port of entry may refuse entry to any person, if s/he considers that such a person is unable to fulfill the immigration requirements or that such person's presence in Morocco would be contrary to national interests or security.

Among other things, Morocco is a top travel destination because of its stunning landscapes, rich culture, and great weather. And there is an extra perk for visitors from Guinea, Congo, and Mali, as they can enter the country with just an electronic travel authorization rather than a visa.

The Morocco eTA is a digital travel document linked to the applicant's passport and designed specifically for travelers from these countries. If you are eligible for the eTA, you do not need to apply for a visa. Find out more below.

What is the Morocco eTA?

This electronic travel document allows a person to enter Morocco. While it's not a visa, it is mandatory for certain nationalities to obtain the Morocco eTA to enter the country and explore its beautiful sights and culture. Now, you can apply for the eTA through iVisa.

Who is eligible to apply for the Morocco eTA?

Electronic travel authorization for Morocco is only available for passport holders from Mali, Guinea, and Congo. These countries have a special agreement with the Moroccan government.

The electronic authorization can be obtained entirely online by these nationals. The ETA can be applied for from anywhere in the world. Once their application has been processed and accepted, applicants must print it and show it at entry and departure points in Morocco.

If you're from another country than the ones mentioned above, please use our handy Visa Checker Tool to find out if you need a Morocco Tourist Visa to visit the country, and apply instantly online!

If you need a long-term visa for Morocco to study, work, and live in the country, contact your nearest Moroccan embassy or consulate for more info.

How long is the Morocco eTA valid?

Eligible people can visit, and stay up to ninety days in Morocco. That's plenty of time to see the most famous places and experience the rich culture! It's a single-entry document, meaning you'll have to reapply if you leave the country and want to come back..

Please note that the right of entry to Morocco with an eTA is still up to immigration officials.

What info and documents do I need to apply?

If you're eligible for the Morocco eTA, you can apply online with iVisa. The following info and documents are required:

  • Scan of your valid passport: The passport validity must be six months from the arrival date in Morocco, and it needs one blank page for stamping.

  • Point of entry: You must specify where you will enter the country (name of the airport/border crossing).

  • Passport photo

  • Email address: To receive the confirmation of your application and a copy of the electronic document.

  • Debit or credit card: To pay the iVisa processing fee.

Once you submit your request, our experts will review and process it. You will receive a confirmation email with your document attached. Make sure to print the Morocco eTA confirmation and present it to the immigration authorities when you arrive.

Do I need a Moroccan eTA if I'm just transiting?

Yes, you also need an eTA to transit. During the application process, you must give information about your final destination.

How to apply online for the Morocco eTA?

To apply online with iVisa, simply follow the below three steps:

  • Step 1: Fill out the online application form with the requested info. For example, you'll be asked about your personal information and passport details.

  • Step 2: Double-check all info, and choose your preferred processing time.

  • Step 3: Pay the processing fee with a debit or credit card, upload the required documents, and click “Submit."

Once you've applied, an iVisa expert will review all your info before processing it with the Moroccan authorities. Once approved, you'll be notified by email.

What are the costs, and how long does it take to process my Morocco eTA application?

The eTA is free of charge. However, you'll only pay a processing fee to use the convenient iVisa services. We can help you obtain your travel document easily and quickly, and the application form is entirely in English (as opposed to the French or Arabic government website).

You can choose from three options based on your budget and travel plans:

  • Standard processing: Those planning their trip to Morocco well in advance can use this affordable alternative.

  • Rush processing: If you have less time available, you may want to select this option.

  • Super Rush processing: In a rush to get your Moroccan eTA? Select this express option.

Do minors/children need to apply for an eTA to enter Morocco?

Yes. If the child is from an eligible country, they will also need to apply for the Moroccan eTA to visit the country. Legal guardians or parents are responsible for filling out the application on their child's behalf. Please note that extra documents may be required to travel with children.
