Applying for a visa can be overwhelming, but we’re here to help simplify the process. If you’re a Moroccan citizen planning to perform Umrah, understanding how to apply for an Umrah Visa is crucial.

Do Moroccan citizens need an Umrah Visa?

Yes, Moroccans who wish to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah must obtain a visa. This allows you to visit the holy cities of Mecca and Medina to complete the pilgrimage. The Umrah Visa is distinct from other Saudi visas, such as work or tourist visas.

The rituals of Umrah, such as the Tawaf and Sa'i, are deeply symbolic expressions of devotion and endurance. Unlike Hajj, which has specific dates, Umrah can be performed at any time of the year.

Umrah visa options for Moroccan citizens

While we don’t currently provide Umrah visa services for Moroccan citizens, here are the main ways to apply for an Umrah Visa:

1.Umrah Visa: Apply through an approved local travel agent or service provider authorized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to book Umrah packages.

2.Saudi Tourist eVisa: This visa allows for tourism and Umrah if you meet certain conditions:

  • Permanent resident of the USA, UK, or EU.
  • Holder of a valid US, UK, or Schengen visa, used at least once.
  • A GCC resident with a permanent residence visa for at least three months.

You must apply at the nearest Saudi embassy or consulate if you don't meet these criteria.

3.Saudi Transit eVisa: A transit visa allows a short stay (up to 96 hours) in Saudi Arabia and can be used to perform Umrah.

Umrah visa rules

Significant updates to Umrah visa regulations have been made. Umrah visas are now valid for 90 days from the issue date, and all pilgrims must exit Saudi Arabia by 15 Dhu al-Qa’dah.

“Make sure to book early, especially for Ramadan, as processing times can take longer during peak seasons.” — Adil from Casablanca.
