If you're planning a journey to the land of smiles, there's great news—starting March 1, 2024, Chinese citizens can continue enjoying visa-free entry into Thailand for stays of up to 30 days per visit.
This new permanent visa waiver agreement between Thailand and China allows for hassle-free travel for tourists.
Do Chinese citizens need a visa to visit Thailand?
No. As of March 1, 2024, Chinese citizens can enter Thailand visa-free for 30 days per visit, thanks to the newly established visa waiver agreement. However, a visa will still be required for stays longer than 30 days or for purposes such as work or study.
If you're planning an extended stay or require a different type of visa, such as a Thailand Tourist Visa for a longer stay, we recommend contacting the nearest Thailand Embassy for assistance.
How to get a Thailand Tourist Visa (if needed)
While visa-free entry allows for up to 30 days of travel, Chinese citizens who need to stay longer may apply for a Thailand Tourist Visa, which allows for a 60-day stay.
Here’s how you can apply for a Thailand Tourist Visa:
1.Complete the application form: Fill out your travel and personal information.
2.Submit necessary documents: Upload the required documents such as passport details, travel itinerary, and proof of accommodation.
3.Receive your visa: Once approved, print a physical copy of your visa and keep a digital version on your mobile device. You’ll need to present it to Thai immigration upon arrival.
"For a smoother entry experience, always have a printed copy of your visa and any supporting documents ready to present at immigration," advises travel expert Alyssa.
