Since May 2025, the Nigerian government has introduced a mandatory digital Landing Card for all incoming travelers, including Saudi nationals.
It’s not enough to just have your Nigeria eVisa anymore.
You now need both the eVisa and the Landing Card to enter the country without issues.
What is the Nigeria Landing Card?
The Nigeria Landing Card is a digital entry form that must be filled out before arriving in Nigeria. It replaces the old paper forms that were handed out on flights.
You must submit the form within 96 hours of your arrival, and once approved, a confirmation will be sent to your email.
💡 Femke Strietman, iVisa travel expert, adds:
"A printed version of both your Nigeria eVisa and Landing Card is optional, but highly recommended in case of technical issues at the airport."
Do Saudi citizens need both an eVisa and Landing Card?
Yes. Saudi passport holders are not eligible for visa-free entry in Nigeria. You must first apply for the Nigeria eVisa, and only once it’s approved can you register for the Landing Card.
Both documents are checked at the airport, and travelers without one or the other may be refused entry.
🛑 Important: The Nigerian visa on arrival has been phased out, and is no longer available. Apply for an eVisa before you go.
What you need for the Nigeria Landing Card
✔️ Valid UK passport
✔️ Travel info (flight number, date)
✔️ Nigerian accommodation details (hotel or host)
✔️ A valid and approved Nigerian eVisa reference number
Step-by-step guide: How to apply for the eVisa and Landing Card
The process is simple when done through iVisa:
1️⃣ Start by completing the Nigeria eVisa application on the website or through the mobile app.
2️⃣ Once your visa is approved, you’ll receive a reference number needed for the Landing Card. Then, log in to your iVisa account or use the app to complete the Landing Card registration.
3️⃣ Enter your flight details, arrival date, and where you’re staying in Nigeria. Once submitted, the card will be emailed to you, usually on the same day.

Why Saudi travelers prefer iVisa
While you can use the government website to complete these forms, many travelers from Saudi Arabia have reported technical glitches, confusing instructions, and lack of \support.

What happens when you land in Nigeria?
Even with your eVisa and Landing Card approved, you’ll go through biometric screening upon arrival. This involves a facial photo and fingerprint scan, and may take an extra 15–20 minutes at the border.
💡 Michael Zervos from Project Kosmos shares:
“The process was smooth. They scanned my face and fingerprints, and I was through within minutes. Everyone was friendly and efficient.”
For the smoothest experience, consider arriving during off-peak hours between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, when Lagos Airport tends to be less busy.
Don't forget your Nigeria Exit Card
Before leaving Nigeria, you’ll also need to complete a Nigeria Exit Card. This is a separate form required for all outbound travelers and must be submitted online within 96 hours of your departure from Nigeria.
You can complete it via the official site. Contact iVisa if you encounter issues with the platform, which is known to be buggy.
Health requirements for Saudi travelers
Although not always checked, Saudi citizens are strongly advised to carry a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, especially if transiting through high-risk countries.
